Tuscany Isn't a Postcard. It's a Feeling You Ride Into.
You've seen the photos. Cypress trees. Rolling hills. Medieval towers. But the best part is when you ride through Tuscany on gravel, surrounded by women who share your passion for cycling and connection.
This is five days unplugged. No velvet ropes. No tour buses. Just you, and a borderless community of riders discovering the magic when women show up for each other in one of the world's most storied landscapes.
Ride hard. Eat well. Connect deeply. Leave transformed.

OUR CUSTOMERS SAY
Andrea
UWAG 2025
UWAG was a transformative experience. I was challenged to ride some of the hardest terrain I have ridden, but because I was surrounded by a group of supportive and capable women, I was encouraged to try. And even when I “failed” they helped pick me back up and get me back on the saddle supporting me when I needed to listen to the voice in my head that said I was a little too out of my depth at times.
From the organization and communication of information, to the support on and off the bikes, this is what made this event really shine.
Claire
UWAG 2023
I’ve never been on a cycling holiday before and all your organisation, coupled with the lovely hotels, made it stress free for me! All I had to do was ride my bike!
Kirsten
UWAG 2023
The meticulous organisation (incl. pre-communication) provided a great sense of security. The responsiveness and willingness to accomodate any special requests gave a sense of inclusiveness. Overall, it felt extremely professional while still radiating a sense of ease and joy.
Jana
UWAG 2025
The community and bonding that comes so easily with NGNM/UWAG guides & staff is probably the top thing that brings me back. Pair that with riding bikes and it's extra great!
The routes this year, while challenging were a great way to expose people to the variability of what gravel riding really is which I enjoyed. The support and flexibility of NGNM staff and guides to accommodate and adjust to our needs from a riding perspective is sincerely appreciated as it allowed everyone to still really enjoy their time at camp.

UWAG 2022
This was so much more than a group ride. I'm so glad I decided to connect with women who are not afraid to be their own role models, to raise awareness about female empowerment and community building. Thank you for providing the opportunity and holding the space in order for this to happen!
Ashley
UWAG 2024
Being a newer rider I was a little nervous about signing up because I wasn't sure if I'd be able to keep up and/or fit in with others that are much more experienced, but everyone was so welcoming and encouraging it was just a fantastic experience! The NGNM team always lended their support and positivity which was empowering for me to believe in myself as a participant. I have made friends that I'm already planning adventures with and we weren't even in the same group during camp. I'm incredibly grateful for this experience and truly hope to join future gravel camps with NGNM!
ROLLING HILLS & OPEN VIEWS
Rolling white roads, packed gravel, and the occasional rougher stretch that keeps you dialed in. This is the terrain around Siena, home to Strade Bianche, and sections of the legendary Eroica and Tuscany Trail. You ride through it, not past it—from the curves of Siena to the towers of San Gimignano, and up to the raw edges of Volterra, all UNESCO sites.
It’s a rhythm of dust, climbs, and long views—the kind of riding that stays with you long after the legs forget.
The course criss-crosses and rides sections of the Francigena road that connects Siena to Rome. The terrain is mostly smooth and compact, rolling hills, with occasional chunkier stretches, cobbled remnants of old roads, and playful singletracks that keep the ride adventurous.
It’s gravel riding at its most scenic, soulful, and unexpectedly wild, blending breathtaking viewpoints, and echoes of old civilizations.

SAN ROCCO A PILLI LOOP
76km / 1240m elev gain
63km/ 930m
56km /910m
About 60% gravel
Day 1 offers three route options, depending on your pace group. With two nights in the same hotel, we ride a loop from San Rocco a Pilli toward Val di Merse, with a stop at the iconic Abbazia di San Galgano, a roofless Gothic abbey unlike anything else. Nearby, the Hermitage of Montesiepi holds the legendary Sword in the Stone.
It’s the perfect first day to test the legs and settle into the rhythm of the Tuscan hills: short, punchy climbs and flowing gravel.
We ride through the Alto Merse Nature Reserve, south west of Siena, where terrain alternates between compact and looser gravel, with the occasional rougher section. Medium and Long groups extend the route toward Sovicille, adding a few more gravel sectors across open hills.
All tracks will be grade 1-3 courses, mixing white gravel roads, single tracks and secondary roads on asphalt.
Easy rolling climbs. There could be a steeper bump here or there.
For the slow group it's required some degree of training and previous gravel experience.
Unfortunately UWAG is not suitable for true beginners.

Is it Right For Me?
UWAG is a gravel camp for women with medium+ experience in gravel cycling.
Given the daily elevation gain that ranges from 700m to 1200m, with punchy climbs, it's required a good dose of uphill training.
Participants should be fit, confident riding gravel in remote areas, capable of handling minor mechanical issues, and comfortable with long hours in the saddle.
We ride in a smaller groups of 6-10 people, enforcing a no-drop policy, always.
With stops to explore the few historical sites on route, expect longer days on the saddle.
Train for it. You’ll be glad you did.

Mixed Terrain!
UWAG Tuscany explores the region’s finest gravel—rolling terrain, punchy climbs, and the steady rhythm of riding between ancient hilltop towns.
The terrain alternates between compact and looser gravel, shifting throughout the day. Some sections flow fast and smooth, others are slightly rougher or more textured, with occasional singletrack and stretches of asphalt connecting it all.
38–45+ mm tires are recommended. Routes wind through remote landscapes, vineyards, olive groves, and open fields—with ancient villages for coffee stops and a mid-ride feed station to refuel.
Navigation is seamless with Hammerhead Karoo, easy route-following, with demo units available to try on request.
Not sure if this camp is for you? Email us — we’ll gladly talk it through together.
